The Tom Bowen/Paul Wintz Orange & Black Classic is a three day high school invitational basketball tournament held the third week of January. The tournament is hosted by Colby High School with sixteen girls and boys teams competing. |

The Gun and Coin show is held in the Colby Community Building the second full weekend of March with exhibitors displaying coins, guns and Indian and Western artifacts. The show runs from 9 AM-6 PM on Saturday and 9 AM-4 PM on Sunday. |

The Better Home and Living show put on by KXXX/100.3 The Ride is a three day show packed with lots of vendors ready to help you with all your Home and Garden needs. |

The Mini March Madness Basketball Clinic is an annual event for students grades 2-5 throughout Thomas County. The clinic gives the students a chance to practice their skills with players from the Colby Community College basketball teams. The community is then invited to come watch the students play basketball games against each other. |

The Chamber Banquet is the annual meeting at which new Chamber Board members are officially installed, Business Person of the Year and Community Service Person of the Year Awards are given as well as a time to reflect on the past year. This is also a good time to network with fellow Chamber supporters during a social hour and dinner. The Chamber fiscal year runs from April 1 to March 31. |

The Diplomats Ladies Luncheon is a chance for business women in the community to get together and network in a fun social setting. |

Picnic in the Park is every Wednesday at noon throughout June and July. Local entertainers donate their talent. Bring your lunch for a community get-together at Fike Park. The children play, the adults visit, and everyone enjoys great music under the shade trees. |

The Colby Kiwanis Club in partnership with the Colby Fire Department provide the 4th of July Fireworks Display at the Thomas County Fairgrounds. |

The Pickin’ on the Plains Bluegrass Festival is a three day event held the third weekend of July at the Thomas County Fairgrounds. A full slate of local and Midwest area band perform under an air-cooled canopy Friday evening, Saturday and Saturday evening and Sunday when the day begins with a Gospel sing-a-long and cowboy church. Thomas County Fair is held the last weekend in July ending the first weekend in August at the Thomas County Fairgrounds. Week-long activities include PRCA rodeos, demolition derby, car races,. parade, livestock sale, barbecue and exhibits by 4-H members and open classes. |

The Chamber Ag committee helps with the weigh-in of the 4-H livestock during the fair and assists with the 4-H sale the Friday of the fair. The purpose of the Ag committee is to promote and support agricultural business in the community. |

The Chamber Golf and Poker Tournament Fundraiser is a 9 hole golf tournament followed by a Texas hold-em poker tournament held at the Meadow Lake Golf Course. |

The Chamber & CVB sponsors with CCC a welcome back picnic for the CCC students and staff at Fike Park in August. The college furnishes and serves food and local businesses have tables to inform new and returning students of the services and products available in the community. We have a scavenger hunt which allows the students to become familiar with Colby and the businesses. Prizes, provided by local businesses, are given to the winners. |

The Ambassador Classic is a gathering of Midwest area college basketball teams, from Kansas, Wyoming, Nebraska and Colorado. They test their skills at the tip-off of the basketball season at this annual tournament. The Ambassador Classic is hosted by the Colby Ambassadors. |

The Christmas Light Parade is held the 1st Sunday in December. There are many imaginative uses of lights on machinery, vehicles, people and animals. It’s a festive way to begin the Christmas season! The Light Parade is judged by the Chamber President, City Mayor and the Publisher of the Colby Free Press. Prizes are awarded to the top two placers in each of the five categories. |
